Support Services

The Precinct 2 Support Services Division provides safe, professional, timely, cost-effective nutrition and transportation services. Overseeing Food Services and Transportation Services the division offers essential programming through our Senior Meal Programs and the Veterans Affairs Transportation Program as well as recreational programming through our Senior Trips.

All services aim to support the needs of constituents of Harris County Precinct 2. 

Our Mission

The Harris County Precinct 2 Support Services pledge to provide accessible food programs and transportation opportunities to residents of Precinct 2. 

Our Vision

By providing meal and transportation programming for the underserved communities in Precinct 2 we strive to empower constituents to overcome obstacles such as food insecurity and/or the lack of access to public transportation. Through Recreational programming, we will create opportunities to connect residents with one another and with their communities. 

Services & Programs

Food Services

Managing all things food in Precinct 2, Food Services was established to address the need for access to nutritious food and to address food insecurity within the communities of Precinct 2. The Food Services Teams develop programming to meet the needs of the community with an emphasis on providing meals for our Senior Citizens. Through grants, community partnerships and donations the food services team provides meals for the Summer Day Camp, Disaster Food Distribution, and for our seniors.

Senior Meal Programs

• Homebound Senior Meal Program- A hot meal delivered Monday through Friday (Excluding county holidays) for senior citizens who are considered homebound due to limited mobility, frailty and/or physical or mental impairments.
• Congregate Senior Meal Program- A hot meal for senior citizens age 60+ Monday thru Friday by dispensed at one of four participating Community Center in Precinct 2.

Daily VA Hospital Route

Harris County Precinct 2 provides two buses to transport Veterans to the VAMC Monday through Friday. Pickup times vary by location with limited spaces available each day. For more information or to register please call 713-274-2222. 

Senior Trips

Harris County Precinct 2 currently offers two types of senior trips. Visit our Senior Trips page for more information.

1. Thursday Bus Trips - Individual trip for seniors. Join us on a Thursday for a pre-planned trip with our transportation team. 
2. Senior Group Trips - Group trips available Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Sunday. Senior Groups can reserve a bus and plan a day trip.
